В Челябинске инспектор мотовзвода ДПС attempted to stop minors riding a pit bike through the city center. The teenagers ignored the requirement to stop and fled, turning onto a public transport stop.

According to a reader of 74.RU, the children escaped the motorcycle squad along the «Dovatora» stop. The witness shared footage of the incident.

The city«s traffic police reported that the driver violated traffic rules by crossing an intersection on a red light, which prompted the inspector to give chase. When the inspector approached, the driver with a passenger turned into a courtyard and disappeared from sight.

As explained in the State Traffic Inspectorate, the pursuit was initiated because the pit bike driver crossed the intersection on a prohibiting traffic light signal. After turning into the yard, the police lost sight of the violators, and now search operations are underway to identify them.

Officials emphasize that riding a pit bike on public roads is completely prohibited, regardless of compliance with traffic rules. This type of vehicle is not registered with the traffic police and lacks a vehicle passport, making it only suitable for closed tracks and off-road use.

The number of incidents involving pit bikes has recently increased. A week ago, a 17-year-old youth crashed into a Gazelle truck on Moldavskaya Street near the Fokus shopping center, suffering serious injuries but surviving. Earlier this month, a 27-year-old motorcyclist died after flipping over on a pit bike in the residential complex «Prityazhenie».
